Mythos

Fenwick & West, which operates simply as Fenwick, is an American corporate law firm founded in 1972 in Palo Alto, California, focused on the technology and life-sciences sectors. It advises clients across their full lifecycle — from day-one startups to public companies — on emerging companies and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, intellectual property, litigation, and tax. The firm has roughly 500–600 attorneys across offices in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Santa Monica, Washington, D.C., and Boston.

Fenwick was founded by William Fenwick and three partners who left a New York firm to build one of the first practices dedicated to technology law, and its history is closely tied to Silicon Valley's growth — it incorporated Apple in the mid-1970s, took companies such as eBay and Facebook public, and has advised Amazon, Google, Cisco, Coinbase, Databricks, and Figma. It consistently ranks among the top firms for emerging companies and venture capital, representing more than 1,600 venture-backed companies, including over 100 unicorns and hundreds of public companies. 📝Thomas Kang is a partner in the firm's Santa Monica office.

Fenwick co-hosted — through partner Thomas Kang — the founder dinner I attended in June 2026, alongside 📝Bixby.
