Candace Ravan is the co-founder and CEO of Birdie (sendbirdie.com), a Los Angeles 🏷️#fintech startup reinventing cash gifting. Birdie offers a platform and app for sending monetary gifts via text or email — even to recipients without an account — along with personalized cash registries for occasions like weddings, birthdays, and graduations, positioning itself around "sending money, with love" rather than peer-to-peer payments. She co-founded the bootstrapped company with Andrew Ravan (COO) and Alexander Ravan (CTO).
Before Birdie, Ravan practiced as an attorney at Novian & Novian, focusing on business and real-estate litigation, and gained earlier legal experience as a law clerk with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office and Public Counsel. She holds a J.D. from UCLA School of Law and a bachelor's degree from USC. Birdie has launched publicly in the App Store and targets the multibillion-dollar cash-gifting market, particularly within the e-commerce ecosystem.
I met Candace at a founder dinner co-hosted by 📝Samuel Adams of 📝Bixby and 📝Thomas Kang of 📝Fenwick & West.
