Mythos

QuickBooks is accounting software for small and midsize businesses made by Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU), a financial software company founded in 1983. Its cloud edition, QuickBooks Online, covers 📝Bookkeeping, invoicing, bill pay, bank feeds, payroll and financial reporting, and is sold by subscription to businesses and to the accountants who serve them.

Intuit released QuickBooks as desktop software in 1992 and has since shifted its focus to QuickBooks Online; in 2024 it stopped selling QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier and Mac Plus to new US customers, leaving Desktop Enterprise as the remaining desktop line. QuickBooks Online connects to banks and card issuers for daily 📝Transaction Downloads, categorizes them with 📝Quickbooks Rules, and offers QuickBooks Online Accountant for firms that manage many client files. It competes with Xero, Sage and NetSuite, and its large ecosystem of connected apps makes it a common 📝General Ledger for startups.

📝Weekly Accounting and 📝DataLinks are focused on companies that are on QuickBooks Online. There are always exceptions; for companies on another system, consider our 📝Quickbooks Migration System.
