Topics are the subscriber-facing channels of your 📝Newsletters — named bundles of your library's hashtags that readers can follow individually. They exist so subscribers choose the slices of your work they actually want instead of an all-or-nothing list, and so you can route the right memos to the right people. Every newsletter-enabled creator defines their own topics and maps each to one or more tags.
Key Capabilities
- Hashtag-mapped channels — each topic bundles one or more of your library's hashtags
- Subscriber self-selection — readers follow specific topics or subscribe to everything
- Hidden topics — keep a topic off your public subscribe page while still segmenting with it (see 📝Hidden Topics)
- Per-topic change threshold — set how substantial an edit must be before that topic notifies
- Stable identity — a topic keeps its identity through renames, so subscriptions never break
- Room to grow — up to 100 topics per creator, each mapping up to 50 tags

FAQ
- What exactly is a topic? A named bundle of one or more of your library hashtags; when you publish or substantially update a public memo carrying one of those tags, subscribers who follow the topic receive it.
- What is a hidden topic for? A hidden topic doesn't appear in the public subscribe picker, so you can segment subscribers into a channel you control — for example, one that surfaces only when someone subscribes from a memo already carrying its tag.
- Do subscribers set how often they hear from each topic? Cadence is per subscriber, not per topic — each subscriber picks instant, daily, weekly, or monthly for their whole subscription.
- How many topics can I create? Up to 100 per creator, with up to 50 tags mapped to each.
- What happens to subscribers if I rename a topic? Nothing — each topic carries a stable internal id, so renames don't drop anyone.
