Elle Allen is an #engineer and senior technical program manager at @Commonwealth Fusion Systems, where she leads research and development projects in superconducting magnet technology. She also serves as a visiting scientist at the @Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Plasma Science and Fusion Center, contributing to the development of high-temperature superconducting cables for fusion energy applications. Earlier in her career, she held engineering and operations roles at @SpaceX, Divergent 3D, and Newlab, working on aerospace systems, additive manufacturing for automotive applications, and advanced machine shop infrastructure. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, with additional focus in robotics and soft robotics for human–computer interaction. Beyond her industry roles, she has contributed to academic publications on superconducting cables, co-authored patents in robotics and exercise technology, and mentored teams in the FIRST Robotics competition. Elle and I met through @Swing City in 2016.
