Mythos

Bambu Printer MCP is an open-source 📝MCP Server that lets AI agents control 📝Bambu Lab 3D printers, manipulate 📝STL files, and run sliced 3MF print jobs from any MCP-compatible client.

Published on npm as bambu-printer-mcp by GitHub user DMontgomery40, it is a Bambu-only fork of the same author's mcp-3D-printer-server, with the OctoPrint, Klipper, Duet, Repetier, Prusa Connect, and Creality Cloud adapters removed. The 🏷️#open-source TypeScript project is licensed under GPL-2.0 and runs over stdio by default, with Streamable HTTP as an alternative transport.

Over the printer's local network, the server reads status, temperatures, progress, and live AMS inventory; captures chamber camera snapshots; uploads, starts, pauses, resumes, and cancels prints over FTPS and MQTT; skips individual objects mid-print; starts filament drying on heated AMS units; and reads HMS diagnostics. It can drive BambuStudio or OrcaSlicer as a command-line 📝Slicer, and an optional 📝Blender MCP bridge handles mesh edits. Print starts and manual heating require a human confirmation prompt.

The project's recommended workflow slices in FULU OrcaSlicer-bambulab and prints over direct LAN, which requires neither Bambu Studio, Bambu Connect, nor Bambu Cloud; the README frames this as support for the FULU Foundation's right-to-repair work. The 📝Bambu Lab X2D is supported for status and slicing, while native printing on it requires macOS and a locally built helper.

📝Nathanial Roberts introduced me to this. I haven't played with it yet, but I plan to connect it to my X2D.
