Assembled Universe is the investment group of 📝Adam Pritzker, which builds and backs consumer, software, and financial services companies. It serves as the parent of several operating businesses that range from consumer brands to growth lending and consumer finance.
Its subsidiaries have included 📝Assembled Brands Capital, a partnership with Oaktree Capital Management that provides growth capital to consumer brands; Kid Made Modern, a do-it-yourself arts-and-crafts company for children; Khaite, the New York women's ready-to-wear label founded by Catherine Holstein in 2016, in which Pritzker made a co-founding investment; and Assembled Financial, a consumer financial services company serving underbanked communities. The group grew out of Pritzker's earlier company building: he co-founded 📝General Assembly, the technology and business skills education company, and in 2013 co-founded Assembled Brands as a holding company for niche fashion and lifestyle brands before it evolved into a lender to growing consumer brands.
