Brand Halo is John Zdanowski's term for a parent brand that serves as a container for a story, holding a growing family of ventures under one narrative.
The pattern is familiar from Google's 2015 restructuring, when Alphabet was created as the parent company above Google and its other ventures. In John's usage the same move recurs across his own work: 📝Assembled Brands became 📝Assembled Universe, and 📝Mythos One became 📝One Inc Cooperative. In each case the new name is wide enough to hold the story the original brand had outgrown.
The term differs from the marketing sense of a halo effect, in which the reputation of one product lifts perception of others from the same maker. A Brand Halo is structural rather than perceptual: it names the umbrella that contains the story, not the goodwill that spills from one product to another.
