HouseValues -> IPO
I joined 📝Market Leader, formerly known as HouseValues, as CFO in the fall of 2003. Soon after, we acquired a technology called Soar Solutions, which became the basis for JustListed, the first system to email listings as soon as they hit the market.
I facilitated the sale of a portion of the founder's shares to William Blair Capital Partners, now known as Chicago Growth Partners.
In December 2004 we took HouseValues public under the ticker symbol SOLD, raising $93m at a ~$400m valuation.
RentJuice -> Sold to Zillow
I was a founding investor and board member of 📝RentJuice, which was acquired by Zillow in 2012. The founder, 📝David Vivero, later asked me to serve on the board of his next company, 📝Amino.
Commissions Inc
I was a founding board member of 📝Commissions Inc. in 2011. I was tasked with selling the company in 2014. In 2015 we sold the business to San Francisco-based private equity firm Serent Capital.
Serent recruited me back to the board of the new company. At the first board meeting I facilitated a discussion about when we should plan to sell it. I predicted that we could sell it in 18 to 24 months; we sold it to Fidelity National Financial in 16 months.
Other
📝Movoto: I was a board advisor and outside CFO to Movoto.com, which we sold to Recruit.JP.
I was an advisor to UpNest.com, formerly LessThanSixPercent.com.
I have a title company in Texas and a number of other states.
