John Van Hooser is a private equity and venture 🏷️#investor with a career spanning venture, growth, and buyout investments in media and communications, IT services, and healthcare. He joined Fountain Partners, a San Francisco-based technology equipment leasing firm serving venture and growth-stage companies, to help manage its Fountain Leasing 2010 fund.
Before Fountain Partners, Van Hooser spent more than 15 years in due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and management of venture and growth-stage companies. He originated and managed communications and media investments at J.P. Morgan Capital from 1994 to 2003, co-founded the private equity firm Telegraph Hill Communications Partners, and was a General Partner at M/C Venture Partners, serving as a director or active observer on the boards of 14 portfolio companies over that period. He began his career as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company and was a Senior Financial Analyst in Studio Strategic Planning at The Walt Disney Company before business school. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA, magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College.
