Mythos

A Cooperative Data Service License enables companies in an industry to share financials and key operating metrics without disclosing any personally identifiable information, with the data owned and protected by 📝One Inc Cooperative for the benefit of its 📝Citizens and clients.

The term, from 📝John Zdanowski, describes a way of pooling business performance data across a category. Participating companies contribute their numbers under the license and gain a view of how comparable businesses perform, while identifying details stay out of the shared set. Ownership of the pooled data rests with the cooperative rather than with any single participant or vendor.

The model draws on two benchmarking precedents John knew firsthand: 📝PRTM's product development benchmarking service, 📝PACE, and 📝Assembled Brands's proprietary database of business metrics in the direct-to-consumer industry. The license extends that practice into a cooperative structure, so the benefit of the benchmark returns to the companies and people who supply the data.

From those experiences, we believe by knowing how other businesses in a particular category perform, the entire category can perform better.
