Workflows is a feature of 📝Clay that builds and runs GTM plays end to end as visual graphs of steps — triggers, search, enrichment, 📝Claygent and account agents, conditional routing, Python code, and sequencer sends — on top of the data in 📝Clay Audiences. It replaces sprawling tables of columns with one canvas where deterministic logic and agents sit side by side, so builders can see every play whole and trace exactly why each record took the path it did; Clay frames Audiences as the rows of its data layer and Workflows as the columns that act on them. It is built for GTM engineers and RevOps builders, who can author workflows in the Clay UI, with Clay's own agent, or from coding agents such as 📝Claude Code and 📝Codex through the Clay plugin, CLI, and API.
Key Capabilities
- Full-play building blocks — Search, enrichment, account agents, sequencer steps, and inbound lead routing run inside one workflow, with TAM sourcing in workflows announced as coming soon.
- Signal and activity triggers — Workflows start from signals, activity, webhooks, audience segments, CSVs, tables, or manual runs, so plays reach buyers at the moment something changes.
- Record-level tracing — Each record's path is traceable step by step, including the reasoning an agent applied, and advanced run filtering narrows debugging to the runs that matter.
- Agent-authorable — Coding agents and Clay's own agent create, edit, test, and publish workflows in natural language through 📝Clay Agent Plugins, with changes shown visually.
- Spend and change control — Per-workflow credit budgets and alerts cap spend, edits stay in a draft until published, and snapshots restore earlier versions without touching production.
Getting Started
- Open Workflows in a Clay workspace.
- Add a trigger: a signal, activity, webhook, audience segment, CSV, table, or manual run.
- Chain search, enrichment, agent, conditional, code, or sequencer steps to define the play.
- Test the draft and trace sample records through each step.
- Set a credit budget, then publish to make the triggers live.
