When @The Birthday Girl hosted her 30th birthday party at an arcade bar, we'd not seen each other for the three months prior. She'd been out of town on a work a contract and—only speaking twice by phone during that time—I had begun to believe I'd underestimated just how much our friendship was based on her wanting to use my hot tub. I walked in to see her wearing a black dress with a thigh high slit and three inch heels as she stood in a crowd of men—many of which were also sporting motorcycle gear. Seeing for the first time how much masculine energy surrounded her, I remember being atypically intimidated. At the end of the night, just as I was about to leave, she invited me to play a shooting game in the corner. A few minutes into the game, I felt her kissing my neck. I turned to kiss her back and the chemistry was instantaneous; unlike anything I'd previously experienced. We continued for a time unknown until we were interrupted by a meek "excuse me..." from another couple wanting to play. Our arcade kisses made way for a warm embrace and, when I noticed she was using her phone while her arms were over my shoulders, I asked "who are you texting?!" to which she responded "You! My address!" This was the beginning of @The Eternal Tryst.
