Mythos

Rippling is a workforce management platform founded in 2016 by Parker Conrad and Prasanna Sankar and headquartered in San Francisco. It unifies HR, IT, and finance operations — payroll, benefits, applicant tracking, device and app management, expenses, and more — on a single platform built around a shared employee data layer. The system serves businesses that want to run people, processes, and spend from one source of truth rather than a patchwork of point tools.

Rippling's core insight is that most business software fragments employee data across dozens of systems, and that a unified data layer lets applications share state, automate cross-functional processes, and surface insights other suites can't. That platform approach put it in competition with HR suites, IT management tools, and spend-management vendors simultaneously, and it has expanded internationally across markets including APAC and EMEA. The company has raised $1.2B from investors including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock, and employs more than 7,600 people.

I spent three-plus years here building international growth, including being first on the ground in Australia — it's where a lot of my GTM engineering instincts got forged. International expansion isn't copy-paste; local nuance matters more than the playbook admits.
