Mythos

Exit Rights in 📝MythOS are an upcoming guarantee for 📝Communities that a community can vote to export everything it owns — content, membership roll and email list, treasury records — and leave. They exist because ownership that can't leave isn't ownership: on conventional platforms the community is the company's asset, and the impossibility of departure is the business model. This is for any group weighing whether to build its home on MythOS — the answer to "what's the catch" is that there isn't one, and the door being open is exactly why people stay.

Key Capabilities

  • Full content export — every memo, post, and record the community created, in portable form
  • Membership export — the member roll and email list belong to the community, not the platform
  • Treasury records — currency balances and transaction history included in the export
  • Vote-gated — leaving is a community decision made through the community's own governance process
  • Architectural commitment — governance features are designed so export is never precluded

Getting Started

Coming soon. Exit rights are a design constraint on Collective Governance from its first release, with a productized export flow to follow.

FAQ

  • Why would a platform build this? Because the communities worth hosting are the ones that stay by choice — exit rights are the proof that MythOS earns its communities rather than trapping them.
  • Who can trigger an export? The community, through whatever decision process its bylaws define — not any single member or officer.
  • What formats will exports use? Portable, open formats; specifics will be documented when the export flow ships.
