Mythos

The AI Guru is a machine-learning system that delivers general religious and spiritual guidance, available at cloudcomfort.ai. I first built the prototype in 2019, drawing on my earlier research analyzing the world's largest 📝Database of Sermons — over 100,000 sermons from more than 5,000 churches across 15 countries, dating back to the 1970s. The initial release surfaces a single teaching per day across a range of themes, with future development aimed at making the system interactive enough to answer questions users input themselves. It currently runs in two versions: a Christian guru trained on the sermon database, and a Spiritual guru trained on a blend of Western and Eastern thinkers, including Alan Watts, the Dalai Lama, and Thich Nhat Hanh. The project is featured in two forthcoming books — one on the future of spiritual technologies with Dr. Wesley Wildman and Dr. Kate Stockly, and 📝Understanding Religion Through Artificial Intelligence, my own treatment of how AI grounded in 📝evolutionary psychology and 📝cultural cybernetics can model and even predict religious social systems. That framing — religions as 📝cybernetic assemblages that can be digitized, simulated, and forecast — is the same engine behind 📝Pythia and the broader CulturePulse platform I founded. The AI Guru remains a work in progress, and more gurus are already in discussion.

I built it because I wanted to see whether the patterns I'd spent years measuring in sermons could be turned back into something genuinely useful to the people who give and receive them. That's the test I care about: not whether the model is clever, but whether it comforts.
