Mythos

A Product Platform Plan, also called a Market Attack Plan, is a planning framework that the consulting firm 📝PRTM used in the 1990s to help large technology companies shift the attention of corporate assets to a new market or product.

From 1994 to 1996, PRTM consulted with a number of large technology companies on developing these strategies and plans, and implemented processes that enabled each organization to develop and execute them. A plan was built from a defined set of components, shown in the 1990s PowerPoint image below.

The Product Platform Plan sat alongside 📝PACE (Product And Cycle-time Excellence), PRTM's framework for product development through cross-functional core teams and phase reviews.

At the time, at clients like Xerox, IBM, Nextel and Hasbro, we implemented processes to enable the organization to develop and execute these plans. We called it a Market Attack Plan or Product Platform Plan.
