The label names seven sources of augmentation: good training; good process; a well-connected system; visibility into performance; the ability to tap into the experience of others; the ability to use the best tools and information, well presented, for the job; and the ability to do the work from anywhere. Each one sits in the system around the person, not in the person alone.
Companies building Augmented Human workforces start by identifying a highly valuable business process to build around. Such workforces may face retention challenges, which raises the design question of whether the work offers a career path.
