Marpipe is an advertising technology company based in New York City and founded in 2019 by Dan Pantelo. It started as a multivariate creative testing platform: brands upload their creative components (images, headlines, copy, colors, and calls to action), and the software assembles hundreds or thousands of ad variations, runs them against different audiences, and reports which individual elements drive results. Early customers included Segment, MongoDB, and Guitar Center.
Marpipe raised a seed round in 2019 from investors including Adobe, Laconia Capital Group, Math Capital, and TIA Ventures. It launched a freemium version of its testing platform in September 2020 and raised an $8 million Series A led by Stage 2 Capital in September 2021. The company coined the term 📝Central Creative Intelligence for the data set its method produces over time: a record of how audiences respond to each component of a brand's creative across campaigns. As of 2026, Marpipe focuses on catalog advertising. Its tools let brands design, enrich, and optimize the product-feed ads that run on Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and other networks, including product-level video and AI-generated catalog creative.
Sumay Parikh of Quake Capital introduced me to Dan, and I'm an investor in and CFO advisor to Marpipe. Dan and I connected on many levels in our first conversation, including a shared belief in 📝Simulation Theory. After Google's audience aggregation and Facebook's lookalike audiences, I think creative automation is the third trillion-dollar innovation in digital advertising.
