By his own admission, @Alan Watts was a ‘spiritual entertainer'. Watts was a scholar with diverse knowledge of, and direct experience with, many of the world's religious and philosophical teachings and doctrines. He has a substantial impact in the early days of the western world ‘waking up’ to the influences of Eastern spirituality and was known for shunning patriarchal religious systems in favor of free and individual thought and expression, leading us towards our own truth and understanding.

Alan wooed audiences with his charismatic charm and wit. Some of his stuff is understandably controversial, even now, especially for the puritanical Christian/religious sorts. Alan’s teachings must have been both controversial and revelatory in equal measure. In many ways, things seemed more innocent at the time, you were born into religions/ lifestyles and did not question why?
