Piper (motorcycle) was my, @Brian Swichkow's, first motorcycle, a candy red 2009 Ducati Monster 696. I fulfilled my dream—six years in the making—and adopted Piper on March 20th, 2016; she was the exact year, make, model, and color of bike I'd fallen in love with after wandering into a small, Vermont motorcycle shop in 2010. I was in the middle of the @My Daily Email Series at the time and wrote about her in an email titled 'Everyone, Meet Piper.' Piper was stolen from my gated garage in Marina del Rey, CA in the night, on my birthday in 2016. She was recovered by police 32 days later in the "raid of a known gang member", just hours after the insurance paperwork had been finalized. I'd already used the insurance money to purchase @Jessica, my 2012 Streetfighter, and never laid eyes on Piper again. The only thing better than a motorcycle is comprehensive motorcycle insurance.
