Mythos

Jira is an issue-tracking and project-management platform developed by 📝Atlassian and first released in 2002, originally aimed at software-engineering bug tracking and now sold as several distinct products: Jira (work management), Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, and Jira Align.

The product is built around configurable issue types, workflows, fields, and queries (JQL — Jira Query Language), with broad customization that has made it the de facto standard issue tracker across many engineering organizations and increasingly across cross-functional product and operations teams as well. Jira ships with native Scrum and Kanban boards, roadmap and timeline views, sprint and release reporting, and integrates with Atlassian's broader portfolio — including Confluence, Bitbucket, and 📝Trello — alongside thousands of third-party apps in the Atlassian Marketplace.
