iCloud is 📝Apple's cloud service, launched in October 2011, that stores a user's photos, files, device backups, and app data online and keeps them synchronized across their Apple devices.
iCloud replaced Apple's earlier MobileMe service and is woven into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, syncing mail, contacts, calendars, notes, and passwords alongside iCloud Photos, iCloud Drive for documents, and the 📝Find My device-location network. Every Apple account includes 5 GB of free storage, with paid iCloud+ tiers adding capacity plus privacy features such as iCloud Private Relay and Hide My Email. Because so much of the Apple ecosystem depends on it for continuity and backup, iCloud functions as the connective layer that lets a user move between an 📝iPhone, iPad, and Mac without manually transferring their data.
