Mythos

Look.IO was a mobile SDK that embedded live customer-support chat directly inside an application, rather than routing the user out to a web form, an email thread, or a phone queue. Co-founded by 📝Grant Miller, it was acquired by LivePerson shortly after raising a small advisory round.

Its claim was to be first to treat in-app live chat as an embedded feature rather than a bolted-on webview — the difference being that the conversation kept the user's session context instead of discarding it at the handoff. HotelTonight, a last-minute hotel booking app where a stalled transaction has a very short shelf life, was the first customer and a fitting proof case. After the acquisition Miller became LivePerson's Mobile Strategy Director and rolled the technology out across large retail, banking, and telecom accounts. The underlying premise — that support belongs inside the product, in context, at the moment something breaks — stopped being a differentiator and became an expectation, now met by 📝Intercom, Zendesk, and the current generation of in-product AI agents.
