Mythos

DoubleVerify (DV) is a third-party ad verification company that advertisers subscribe to as an independent auditor of their digital ad placements. It answers three questions for every ad impression: Was it viewable? Was it seen by a real human (not a bot)? Did it appear in a brand-safe environment?

The DV Authentic Ad metric is their combined pass/fail score — an impression only counts as "authentic" if it clears all three checks (viewable, fraud-free, brand-safe) simultaneously. This gives advertisers a single quality number rather than siloed reports.

DV integrates directly with ad platforms via tags/pixels. When an advertiser runs ads, DV's code fires alongside the ad to measure quality signals independently of the platform's own reporting. Results appear in DV's Pinnacle dashboard, not the platform's.

Reddit Integration

DV launched comprehensive media quality authentication on 📝Reddit in June 2024 — the first such offering on the platform. Coverage spans all ad formats (image, video, carousel, conversation placements) with brand safety, suitability, fraud, viewability, and in-geo verification using the GARM framework.
