Mythos

Headspace is a digital health company providing guided 🏷️#meditation and mindfulness training through its mobile and web apps. Founded in 2010 by Andy Puddicombe, a former Buddhist monk, and Rich Pierson, the company offers a library of hundreds of hours of guided sessions, sleep content, and structured courses spanning beginner to advanced practice, used by tens of millions of members across more than 190 countries.

Headspace began as a meditation events company in London before pivoting to the app that, alongside rival Calm, popularized subscription meditation. Its "10 minutes for 10 days" beginner challenge became the product's signature on-ramp. In 2021 the company merged with Ginger, an on-demand mental-health coaching provider, to form Headspace Health — extending the consumer app into employer and health-plan mental-health care — and launched the Netflix series Headspace Guide to Meditation the same year.

The "10 minutes for 10 days" challenge was the single most important facilitator of my meditation practice — at its peak I meditated 20 minutes a day for 301 consecutive days. I recommend it for other beginners.
