Ron Conway (Ronald Crawford Conway, born March 9, 1951) is an American 🏷️#angel-investor and the co-founder of SV Angel, a San Francisco seed-stage investment firm. Through Angel Investors LP, SV Angel, and personal vehicles he has made more than 650 investments, including early positions in 📝Google, 📝Facebook, 📝PayPal, 📝Airbnb, and 📝Reddit, placing him among the most prolific early-stage investors in the technology industry.
Before investing full-time, Conway served as CEO of Altos Computer Systems from 1988 to 1990; he holds a political science degree from San Jose State University. His civic work centers on San Francisco and gun-violence prevention. In 2012 he founded sf.citi, a nonprofit that advocates for the city's technology community; he sits on the advisory board of Sandy Hook Promise; and he founded the Smart Tech Challenges Foundation, which committed $1 million to firearm-safety innovation. He is a major Democratic Party donor and joined 📝The Giving Pledge in 2021.
