Objective
Mayonnaise Money, a turn-of-phrase often used by entrepreneurs, is an aspirational reference to the state of financial stability necessary to enable spending of an amount greater than one's current monthly rent to accomplish an unnecessary, ephemeral, or otherwise silly objective.
The term originated as a natural summary of The Big Cheese's 'Mayonnaise Prank'; something that could have only manifested itself in startup culture. Shared meekly and with minimal spectacle, my re-sharing quickly became colorized with Creative Nonfiction to rightfully extend his mythos.
When friends started using "Mayonnaise Money" as a punchline as much as they were using it as a mantra, I felt compelled to extend the story's resonance beyond me. As an #over-engineered gift and friendly tribute, I hired an illustrator to characterize this deviousness as a t-shit which cold be listed for sale in the Masters of Irreverence store.
