Vanta is a security and compliance automation platform founded in 2018 by Christina Cacioppo and Erik Goldman, both former Dropbox employees. It automates the evidence-gathering and continuous monitoring required for frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR, and extends into risk management, vendor security reviews, and customer-facing trust centers. The platform serves more than 12,000 organizations, from startups to enterprises, across dozens of countries.
Cacioppo started Vanta after experiencing the manual, time-consuming SOC 2 process firsthand while leading Dropbox Paper, and the company built its wedge by turning a painful one-time audit into continuous, automated assurance. It has since expanded toward an AI-powered trust platform with hundreds of integrations running automated tests against a company's systems. Vanta has raised more than $500M, including a $150M Series D in 2025 at a $4.15B valuation led by Wellington Management, with backing from Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator, Goldman Sachs, Atlassian Ventures, and CrowdStrike Ventures.
