Mythos

Objective

People keep asking me what I actually do, so here it is in one place — the whole stack, from daily microbiome upkeep to the 7-day runway into an event. This is what works for me, not medical advice. If something's persistent (recurring BV, yeast, real dryness), go see a provider.

Hydration + Diet Foundations

This is the unglamorous part that does the most work.

Daily

  • 2–3L water, especially in the days leading up to an event
  • Omega-rich foods: chia, flax, walnuts, avocado — these support mucosal hydration, vaginal tissue included

Foods that help

  • Pineapple, melon, citrus, berries
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, mint), cucumber, celery

3–4 days out, dial back

  • Excess sugar (feeds yeast)
  • Alcohol (drying, alters scent)
  • Heavy garlic and onion

Microbiome Support

This is my real signature scent — not a product.

  • Probiotic with Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 + Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14, the two most studied strains for vaginal and urinary flora
  • Unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • Never douche or use scented washes

If BV or yeast prone, this step matters more than any freshening product. If you want a specific bottle rather than sourcing the strains yourself, Jarrow Fem-Dophilus is formulated with exactly that pair and is shelf-stable.

External Care

  • Wash the vulva with warm water or a very mild unscented cleanser only
  • Trim, don't shave close right before — irritation risk
  • Breathable cotton underwear leading up to the event
  • Right before: quick rinse or warm washcloth, and a drop of plain fractionated coconut oil externally for glide (patch test first)

In-the-Moment Lubrication

If I want a backup that's easy to find in stores, Good Clean Love Almost Naked is aloe-based, pH 4.1–4.5 (matches vaginal pH), and iso-osmolar, meaning it won't pull moisture out of tissue the way high-osmolality lubes can. That pH-plus-osmolarity combo is the actual rule of thumb.

Daily Supplement Stack

Optional extras: chlorophyll (internal deodorizer effect), cranberry extract (urinary and vaginal balance)

Simple twice-a-day version: probiotic + omega-3 in the morning, evening primrose + vitamin E at night.

One flag on evening primrose oil: it can interact with blood thinners and isn't recommended right before surgery. Not everyone reading this will know that.

What NOT to bother with: yoni detox pills, boric acid unless you're actively treating BV or yeast, sugary feminine gummies.

7-Day Prep

Days 1–3 — Foundation

  • Morning: probiotic, omega-3, water before coffee
  • Midday: hydrating foods plus a fat source
  • Evening: evening primrose, vitamin E, peppermint or ginger tea
  • Avoid: alcohol, heavy sugar, salty processed food

Days 4–5 — Expected period window

  • If it hasn't started: keep the routine, add slightly higher calories (signals safety to my body) and lower-intensity movement
  • If it does start: no panic. Stay on the supplements, pause primrose if cramps worsen, hydrate more, lean on magnesium-rich foods and warm fluids

Days 5–6 — Glow + moisture build

  • Same stack, add chlorophyll
  • Clear or light urine is my hydration marker
  • Food focus: pineapple, citrus, berries, cucumber and mint, light proteins
  • Cut alcohol completely, ease off garlic, onion, and excess coffee

Day 6 night — Pre-event ritual

  • Warm shower, external-only cleanse, light oil on thighs and hips
  • Loose cotton underwear or none
  • Light but satisfying meal — protein, carb, a little fat
  • Sleep. Underrated. My nervous system resets overnight

Day 7 — Event day

  • Morning: probiotic and omega-3, hydrate early instead of playing catch-up
  • Midday: light hydrating food plus something salty for balance
  • 2–3 hours before: shower or rinse, no harsh soap, optional external oil
  • Right before: empty bladder, breathe, drop in

If my period shows up anyway: a soft disc works during penetration, and a dark breathable outfit plus confidence covers the rest.

Worth saying plainly: this timing approach is diet and lifestyle based, not a guaranteed method. It's what's worked for me.

Pussy Water

  • 32 oz water, or 50/50 coconut water and still water
  • 1 serving electrolytes
  • 2g d-mannose powder + cranberry extract

For the electrolyte piece: LMNT is zero-sugar and sodium-forward, good if you sweat a lot at events. Ultima Replenisher is gentler and lower-sodium if LMNT's saltiness isn't for you.

Subjective

The part people skip: supplements help, but my baseline state matters more. Hydration beats everything. Arousal beats any pill for lubrication. Microbiome balance beats every fragrance hack.

My body produces more natural lubrication when I feel safe, when I feel wanted, and when I'm not rushing myself. So the real final step isn't a supplement, it's giving myself a runway. A slow lead-in. Music, scent, an outfit ritual. Time to warm up instead of jumping straight into action.

Before I go: warm shower, light oil on thighs and hips, and I set an intention — my body is soft, responsive, and fully mine. Not woo-woo fluff. My nervous system listens.

And having a little assist is power, not failure. Nobody is failing at anything by reaching for lube.

The arc, if I want it in one line: Days 1–3 build the ecosystem, Days 3–4 influence timing, Days 5–6 amplify moisture and scent, Day 7 I'm not prepping anymore — I'm inhabiting.

I'm not trying to smell like a product. You're aiming for clean, warm, skin-but-better.
