Mythos

Wire MythOS into the iPhone Action Button (or any Shortcuts trigger) by routing a voice memo through πŸ“Claude, which acts on your library via the πŸ“MythOS MCP.

The shortcut records your voice, transcribes it on-device, and hands the transcript to Claude in a fresh chat. Because Claude already has the MythOS MCP connected, "add this to my daily memo" or "create a quick reference on X" becomes a single button press β€” no app switching, no typing.

What You'll Need

  • A MythOS account at mythos.one
  • A Claude subscription with the Claude iOS app installed and signed in
  • iOS 17 or later (the Ask Claude Shortcuts action ships with the Claude app)

Steps

  1. Connect MythOS to Claude β€” Follow πŸ“How to Connect MythOS to Claude.ai once. Without this, Claude can read your voice transcript but can't act on your library β€” every request will fail.
  2. Install the shortcut β€” Tap this share link on your iPhone: {shortcut share URL β€” fill in before publishing}. Shortcuts opens with the four-action template ready to add.
  3. Review the actions β€” Confirm the shortcut contains Record Audio β†’ Set Variable (VoiceMemo) β†’ Transcribe to Text β†’ Set Variable (Transcript) β†’ Ask Claude. The Ask Claude action passes your transcript directly to a Claude chat with your MCPs available.
  4. Add the shortcut β€” Tap Add Shortcut. It now appears in your Shortcuts library and is invocable by Siri ("Hey Siri, Message BrianBot") or from the Home Screen.
  5. Test the round trip β€” Run the shortcut, say "add a note to my daily memo confirming the shortcut works," and watch Claude open, take the action against MythOS, and confirm the entry. If the Ask Claude action prompts for permissions, grant them once.
  6. (Optional) Map it to the Action Button β€” Open Settings β†’ Action Button, swipe to Shortcut, and select this shortcut. Press and hold the Action Button to launch it instantly. This works on iPhone 15 Pro, 16 Pro, and later.

What's Next?

Anything you'd normally type into Claude with MythOS connected, you can now say out loud. A few worth wiring into muscle memory:

  • "Add this to my daily memo: [thought]" β€” the case we just tested
  • "Create a quick reference memo on [topic] with what I'm about to say"
  • "Add a task to today: [task]"
  • "Append this to my [memo name] memo: [content]"
  • "Search my library for [topic] and tell me what I've already captured"
  • "Read me my daily memo" β€” voice-out review during a walk or drive

The shortcut is intent-agnostic. Anything the πŸ“MythOS MCP exposes is reachable from the Action Button.
