Mythos

Focus Mode narrows 📝The Graph to a single memo's neighborhood — pick a node, choose how many hops out to include, and the map redraws around just that memo and what connects to it. The full graph shows everything; Focus Mode answers "what surrounds this one idea," which is often the question you actually have.

Key Capabilities

  • Focus here — enter focus mode on any node from its hover preview or detail panel
  • Hop depth — include neighbors 1, 2, or 3 hops out with a depth slider
  • Direction toggle — follow incoming links, outgoing links, or both
  • In-view count — see how many nodes the current focus includes
  • Breadcrumb — a Knowledge Graph › Focus trail; click to step back to the full graph
  • Deep links — a focused view is shareable via a ?focus= URL with its depth

Getting Started

  1. Open the graph and hover or click a node
  2. Choose Focus here to redraw the map around that node
  3. Set the hop depth (1–3) and toggle Incoming / Outgoing to shape the neighborhood
  4. Click Knowledge Graph in the breadcrumb to return to the full map

FAQ

  • How deep can I focus? Up to three hops out; the depth slider controls it.
  • Can I follow only inbound or outbound links? Yes — the direction toggle switches between incoming, outgoing, or both.
  • Can I share a focused view? Yes — the URL carries ?focus= and the depth, so a link reopens the same neighborhood.
  • How is this different from the mini-graph? The 📝Connections Mini-Graph is a fixed one-hop card on the memo page; Focus Mode is the full graph narrowed to any depth.
