Mythos

Account & Data in 📝MythOS is the 📝Accounts, Auth & Security page holding who you are on the platform and what you can take away from it: display name, email, avatar, a full download of your library, and account deletion.

A library is only yours if you can leave with it, so the export is a single action and deletion is scheduled rather than instant — reversible right up until it runs.

It is for every creator, and especially for anyone who wants to know what leaving looks like before they commit to staying.

Key Capabilities

  • Inline account details — display name, email, and mailing address edit in place on one page.
  • Avatar upload — images are compressed in the browser before upload and replace the previous one.
  • Download your data — a full copy of your library, generated on request and downloaded in the browser.
  • Scheduled deletion — deleting your account opens a seven-day grace period rather than acting immediately.
  • Cancel any time inside the window — until the grace period expires, deletion can be called off from the same page.
  • Anonymized, not orphaned — on final deletion, public contributions are attributed to "[Deleted User]" and everything private is destroyed.

Getting Started

  1. Go to Settings → Account.
  2. Click any field — display name, email, or address — to edit it in place.
  3. Upload an avatar; it is resized before upload and overwrites the previous image.
  4. Choose Download My Data and re-enter your password to get a full copy of your library.
  5. Delete Account schedules deletion seven days out; cancel from the same page any time before then.

FAQ

  • Which image formats work for an avatar? JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF, up to 5 MB — larger images are compressed in the browser first.
  • Is an avatar available on the free plan? No. Image uploads of any kind require a paid plan — 📝Scribe, 📝Scholar, or 📝Oracle.
  • Is the export emailed to me? No. It downloads directly in your browser as soon as it is built.
  • How often can I export? Exports are rate limited per account; if you have just run one, wait before starting another.
  • What actually happens when I delete my account? After the grace period, daily memos, templates, habits, chat history, contacts, and API keys are destroyed, while memos, comments, and community posts other people can see are anonymized to "[Deleted User]".
  • Can I re-register my old username? No. A deleted username is retired and cannot be claimed again.
