Backstory
Linden Lab, makers of 📝Second Life had a Love Machine which formed the basis of recognizing employee contributions. Any employee could send a one line Love to any other employee at any time for any reason. The giver would write in a reason for the gift. The gift was noted on the public ledger for anyone to see. At the end of each month, in the early days, we'd count up all the loves received by each person and stuff an envelope full of $3 in cash for each Love received.
