Shawn Colo is an 🏷️#investor and entrepreneur who co-founded 3L Capital, a growth equity firm with offices in Los Angeles and New York that backs consumer, technology, and data services companies. He co-founded the firm in 2017 and, as of 2026, is a managing partner there; he is also executive chairman of Teton Ridge.

Colo began in private equity as a principal at Spectrum Equity Investors. In 2006 he co-founded Demand Media, later renamed Leaf Group, where he held roles including chief executive and director. At Demand Media he led acquisitions of content, technology, and services businesses and was part of the team that raised more than $450 million in equity and debt, including the company's 2011 initial public offering. He studied civil engineering and operations research at Princeton University.
