Dynamic Anecdotal Information Network is a phrase coined by Mitch Kessler to describe 📝MythOS: a trusted network in which people communicate through linked, first-hand accounts that keep changing as they are revised and connected.
Kessler coined the phrase in early 2020, only a few days after learning about 📝One Inc Cooperative and the platform, then called Mythos One. The phrase reads as a compact description of how the platform works. It is dynamic because memos are living documents, edited and relinked over time rather than published once. It is anecdotal because its unit of knowledge is a personal account, an observation or experience written by the person who had it, rather than an authoritative reference entry. It is an information network because those accounts are joined by mentions and tags, so meaning comes from the connections as much as from any single memo.
The phrase sets this model apart from a social network, which organizes people around a feed of posts, and from a wiki, which aims at one consensus article per topic. In a dynamic anecdotal information network, many individual perspectives sit side by side and link to one another, and trust comes from knowing whose account is being read. The early 📝Metrics of Mythos One gave a glimpse of this as a new method of communication within a trusted network.
