DBSrc ("Database Source") is a tab name used in every 📝Integrated Financial Model (IFM) 📝John Zdanowski builds, the tab that holds summarized transaction data from a business.
Important data from businesses comes in transaction detail. Summarizing that detail monthly and weekly forms the basis of raising awareness of what is important in a business or in any system being built. In that sense DBSrc is an API to the integrated financial model: the model reads its inputs from the tab rather than from raw transactions.
The tab is laid out as metric name against time unit, where the time unit is daily, weekly or monthly. For a web-based subscription business, the metrics would be new subscribers, lost subscribers, active subscribers, revenue, new visitors, repeat visitors and ad spend. DBSrc follows the same Src naming as the other source tabs described in 📝Components of an IFM, such as ISSrc for the income statement and BSSrc for the balance sheet.
