Mythos

An Inevitable Unicorn is a venture-backed company that 📝John Zdanowski believes will someday be worth more than $1 billion.

"Unicorn" is venture capital shorthand for a private startup valued at $1 billion or more. John's qualifier, "inevitable," expresses conviction rather than hope: the company's model and position make the outcome look like a matter of time. He has applied the term to companies he has worked with, including 📝Robin Healthcare, 📝Trust & Will, and 📝Crowdbotics.

The name took shape at Robin Healthcare. Soon after building Robin's weekly metrics, John's team compiled weekly metrics from other departments and integrated them into a single document named "The Unicorn Weekly." Robin was placing an Alexa-like device in doctors' exam rooms to relieve their administrative burden: the Robin Assistant listens to the visit, transcribes it into notes, determines the codes required for billing, and pushes them back into the doctor's system for approval.

John later made the same case for Trust & Will: it was a leading venture-backed brand in the highly regulated estate planning industry, it had used television advertising to drive awareness and conversion with profitable 📝Unit Economics, it was building products adjacent to its core document product, and it was creating a lifelong relationship with the consumer.
