Sean Plaice is an American software engineer and 🏷️#entrepreneur who co-founded Postmates, the on-demand delivery company, with Bastian Lehmann and Sam Street in 2011. He served as its chief technology officer from its founding until February 2021, through Uber's acquisition of Postmates in 2020.
Plaice began his career in systems administration, joining 📝Affinity Internet, a web hosting roll-up, in 1999 as one of its first system administrators while it acquired web hosting companies. At Postmates he led engineering as the company grew into one of the largest on-demand delivery platforms in the United States.
Sean is a problem solver. He was one of the first system administrators we hired at Affinity Internet back in 1999, self-taught and keeping pace as we acquired web hosting companies. The next time we connected, I learned he was a co-founder of Postmates.
