Mythos

Configure don't code is a build principle at 📝Weekly Accounting: assemble a company's systems by configuring existing software rather than writing custom code.

"Configuring Software is the new Programming" - 📝Jeff Abrams

The principle treats the settings, rules, and integrations of off-the-shelf applications as the programmable layer of a business: instead of commissioning bespoke tools, the builder chooses established software and shapes it to the process at hand. It sits alongside the low-code and no-code movements, and it differs from avoiding technology: configuration is still design work, done in the vocabulary of the tools rather than in source code.
