Startup Witness Protection Program is what I call the twenty or so years my family spent moving up and down the West Coast, one startup at a time, as if someone kept handing us a new identity.
After Harvard Business School, where I met Charlotte Zdanowski, we landed in Manhattan Beach. Then the startups came calling. A new company meant a new city, a new house, and a new title on the door. Along the way I helped take four companies from single digits to about $100 million in revenue. The scorecard lives in 📝Our Exits.
It sounds like a joke. It is. It is also true. Nobody ever asked us to testify.
Eventually we stopped moving and started planting, in San Diego, on the farm. The longer version is in my 📝History.
