Mythos

A meditative experience is a state in which the whole body is immersed in an activity and the mind seems to resonate along with it, so that attention moves with the activity rather than commenting on it from a distance.

The term extends the ordinary sense of meditative, meaning calm and contemplative, beyond seated practice to any activity absorbing enough to carry body and mind together. It sits near what psychology calls [flow](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)), a state of full absorption in an activity.

Formal meditation, including Transcendental Meditation, offers a related experience. At times the meditator sits and observes the river of thoughts. At other times it is possible to walk away from the river altogether and experience no-thought, or wordless experience.

One of the things that writing in Mythos does is to facilitate the mind as it parses the discrete components of a group of thoughts.
