Alex Creely is Chief Engineer for 📝ARC at 📝Commonwealth Fusion Systems, a 🏷️#physicist who previously led 📝SPARC tokamak operations. He is the first author of "Overview of the SPARC tokamak," the paper that presented the machine's design to the field in the 2020 Journal of Plasma Physics collection published before construction began.

That collection put SPARC's physics case through peer review rather than press release, and Creely's overview paper is its entry point — the public design document against which the machine's performance can be checked. He has since become the company's most consistent technical explainer to non-specialists: he narrates CFS's facility video tours, presents "Fusion 101" sessions to residents in Chesterfield County near the 📝Fall Line Fusion Power Station site, and fields questions on the ARC physics basis papers. Speaking to Virginia press about the plant, he framed the technology's appeal plainly: "One of the big advantages of fusion is that it doesn't produce any long lived waste material."
