Mythos

Window of tolerance is the range in which sensation can be felt without overwhelm or shutdown.

Inside it, the person can notice, breathe, and stay. Above it, charge floods; below it, the system goes foggy or numb. In ๐Ÿ“Somatic Practice that window is the dose limit: if a movement or a memory pushes out of it, the work slows, resources, or stops. The phrase is a working picture, not a psychiatric diagnosis, not a trauma label, and not a promise that the window will widen on a schedule.

Clients feel the edges as too much or as gone. The practitioner watches breath, eyes, and the ability to speak. Panic, freeze, or dissociation is a stop, not a cue to push through. Persistent unexplained symptoms belong with licensed care; this is not psychotherapy.
