Casa Verde Capital is a venture capital firm investing exclusively in the cannabis industry, co-founded in 2015 by 📝Snoop Dogg and based in Los Angeles. Led by managing partner Karan Wadhera, the firm concentrates on the ancillary layer — the software, logistics, compliance, and financial infrastructure serving licensed operators — rather than on plant-touching cultivation or retail, and typically leads seed and early-stage rounds.
That mandate is a deliberate regulatory hedge. Backing the picks-and-shovels layer sidestepped most of the federal-illegality exposure that cut plant-touching companies off from banking, payment rails, and public markets through the industry's first decade. Portfolio positions include Dutchie, LeafLink, Metrc, Vangst, and Bespoke Financial, several of which became category leaders in their segments. The firm closed a $100 million fund in December 2020 and has deployed roughly $250 million since inception across more than two dozen companies, with recent activity extending outside the United States. It also backs 📝Merry Jane, the cannabis media platform Snoop Dogg co-founded, and the delivery service 📝Ease.
