Bear is an ultra-minimalist writing application for iOS and Mac is purpose built to enhance the production, creativity, and utility of private notes, daily journals, and self-management. Bear’s user experience—developed without hierarchical sorting such as notebooks, folders, etc.—reduces the distance between conception and creation. Bypassing the logical process of classifying and categorizing, Bear’s in-line tagging functionality enables contextual sorting within the writing process itself. This grants users freedom to explore their ideas without the cognitive distractions and drains that remove them from the creative writing process. While @Evernote was built to capture and organize, Bear was built to "create and inspire". It's simple markdown language furthers and lack of collaboration tools, furthers the user’s focus on creation. Bear is cloud-based and finds the balance between functionality and focus.
