My excerpt for a soon-to-be-publsihed Financial Times article:
People are still seeing spatial media platforms like Topia through the eyes of their quarantine. As we re-emerge, we're not going to forget the ways we stayed connected while in isolation. We see physical gatherings in the future as being augmented by digital twins. It will become common to go "in-world" to attend an event in another country while we getting ready to leave the house to attend one down the street. Physical events with space for hundreds will now host thousands in their digital dimension. Conferences and festivals that rent physical venues annually will begin to create and maintain revenue-generating surreal estate year round. Topia's creator economy will continue to grow and empower a new generation of commerce. Surreal-estate developers like us are already creating digital properties that can be rented, deployed as portals within other experiences, etc. With the constraints of physical space gone and the limits of proximity diminished, a richer experience of the web that we couldn't previously have imagined is already beginning to emerge.
