Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's free service for monitoring, managing, and optimizing how a website appears in Bing's search index, covering crawl, indexing, and query-performance reporting.
The tool reports crawl statistics and errors, indexing status, and keyword and query performance, and lets site owners submit sitemaps or individual URLs directly rather than waiting for a crawl. It supports IndexNow, a protocol for pushing changed URLs to the index in near real time, and surfaces backlink data and automated SEO suggestions for a site.
Bing Webmaster Tools sits alongside 📝Bing's other free tooling for site owners and is distinct from the paid Microsoft Advertising platform. Because Bing's index also underlies Yahoo Search and a substantial share of 📝DuckDuckGo's results, its crawl and indexing signals carry weight beyond Bing's own traffic share. It remains separate from Bing's developer-facing Search APIs, which Microsoft retired in August 2025 in favor of Grounding with Bing Search inside Azure AI Agents — Webmaster Tools continues to serve site owners directly.
