Rapportive was a Gmail browser extension founded in 2010 by Rahul Vohra, Martin Kleppmann, Sam Stokes, and Conrad Irwin that replaced Google's right-side ad rail in Gmail with a sender profile pane pulling LinkedIn information, social-network links, and recent contact activity directly into the inbox.
The product became widely adopted among sales, recruiting, and business-development teams as a fast way to enrich any inbound email with sender context without leaving the message thread. LinkedIn acquired Rapportive in 2012 for a reported $15 million; the standalone extension was retained for several years before being formally discontinued in 2018, with most of its sender-enrichment functionality migrated into LinkedIn Sales Navigator and adjacent paid products. Co-founder Rahul Vohra later founded the email client Superhuman, where elements of the Rapportive sidebar pattern reappeared in a paid form.
