PDF Spaces is an 🏷️#ai-powered workspace feature in 📝Adobe Acrobat that transforms static PDF files into interactive, multi-document environments where users can chat, summarize, and analyze content across multiple files simultaneously.
PDF Spaces allows users to upload PDFs, documents, and web links into a unified workspace, then interact with that content via an AI assistant that automatically generates summaries and answers questions with precise citations. The feature supports three prebuilt AI agent types — described as Assistant, Analyst, and Instructor — each optimized for distinct tasks such as reviewing content, comparing documents, or extracting insights. Users can also customize agent behavior to match their specific document needs.
The workflow is four steps: open PDF Spaces within Acrobat (available under Files or Tools on desktop and mobile), add multiple files, interact via AI-powered chat and summaries, then share the workspace with collaborators. Sharing grants team members access to the full workspace rather than individual files, with permissions controlled by the owner. Adobe notes that all documents within a PDF Space are protected by Acrobat's existing security protocols, including encryption and controlled sharing settings.
PDF Spaces is accessible via the Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile app and is included with select Acrobat plans. The feature ships with a public gallery of curated Spaces across categories including productivity, lifestyle, and general exploration, intended to serve as launchpad templates for new users.
